The LipColour is very moist and does keep the lips from cracking. It is one of the best lip color products I have purchased. However, I am disappoint that they have quit carrying the sheer lip colours. I liked the more elegant look of the sheer colors that do not look like you are "made up",
I've tried many of Jane Iredale's lipsticks, and while they are all natural and flattering, I find Jane the absolute best for my coloring. I have a golden light olive complexion and "Jane" just gives me the perfect glow, without being artificial looking. It has a definite apricot or light orange cast, which is very flattering for my skin tone. Unfortunately, many lipstick shades have a blue or wine undertone that looks horrible on me...Hooray and 5 stars for Jane. It's also very creamy and lasts a long time.
My Lips get cold sores if I do not wear SPF and Moisturize them. Severe Allergies, Rosacea, and Ezcema all the time. This product protects them, moisturizes without attracting the sun. Thank you for the natural ingredients. Being allergic to chemical sunscreens, it is must have! Lily is the perfect neutral pink color!
I am reviewing the lily color. The color is lighter than it appears online. It is ultra sheer and deposits hardly any color. It does feel moist but apart from trying it initially I have not worn it as I can't tell I have anything on. Jane Iredale has great customer service and I received a no hassle refund.
the color i'm reviewing is the Lily. It is way too sheer you hardly see any color deposited but it does feel moist.
I LOVE this lipstick and I am very hard to please when it comes to lipsticks. This one is the only one I've tried that combines the perfect color for my skin tone with the perfect feel on my lips. AND IT LASTS! Never gummy, sticky, or smearing on my lips and into the--ahem--tiny lines around my mouth, it is indeed purely moist and positively perfection. ASHLEY is my color of choice and the last lipstick I will ever have to search for!
I've been always avoiding lipstick because I have rather full lips and dense pigment makes me look like a clown! I was very pleased to discover Lily and Susan, which are both sheer and natural-looking with good moisturising properties. Their staying power is average, but they fade evenly, without visibly residing in fine lines. Lily is a neutral brownish pink and it adds warmth to my complexion, but Susan is my favourite because it's almost identical to my own lip colour! With the added bonus of SPF, it's definitely my first choice for everyday summer wear!
I do love this lipstick. What's extra special for me is I have the "Melisa", which is my name and the exact way I spell it(which is very uncommon)! Lucky me the shade is GREAT!!!!Very moisturizing...I wonder who it was named for?
I LOOOOOVE this lipstick color (Bridget). I have light/medium, olive, Asian skin. I also have red undertones in my chin and cheeks due to old acne scars and flushing. The violet undertones in the Bridget is so complimentary to my Asian skin, and it really shows up without being overwhelming. It is REALLY flattering. This Bridget color is a deep rose with a hint of violet/plum. It glides on smoothly, creamily, and it has a saturated hue. It has spf 18 on top of it all...you can't go wrong with Jane Iredale's PureMoist lipsticks. If you are thinking about buying it: do it!
The Melisa color is pretty, subtle, and has a nice shimmer. If you wear Melisa, you do not have to wear any lip gloss. In fact, I prefer the PureMoist lipsticks over the lip glosses because there is no stickiness with the lipsticks. Additionally, although Melisa feels great on my lips, it does not have as much of a presence as the matte colors like, Brett and Bridget. I believe that Jane Iredale's matte lipsticks have much more saturated color. It is easy to tell which of the colors are matte versus shimmer: just click on the color that you're interested in, and look at the actual photo of the lipstick in its tube. You can see the shimmery flecks in the photo. It is clear to see that the matte colors do not have any shimmery flecks. I gave the Melisa color only 4 stars because I wanted it to have a more saturated color on my lips. Otherwise, if you're looking for a sheer, shimmery, lip color....Melisa is fantastic. *(I have a light/medium olive skin tone....and wear Jane Iredale's Golden Glow pressed powder).
I was disappointed with the LipColour lipstick as it wears off rather quickly. And $19 + tax & shipping is more than I usually spend on a lipstick so I had been expecting so much more.
The reviews are quite misleading, unfortunately... The colors are beautiful, but gosh this lipstick is very drying! I use the lip gloss together with the PureMoist Lipcolor, and I have to lather on so much chapstick, because my lips feel super dry otherwise!
I have purchased several colors of this product - and have liked all of them. Some are quite dark, others very pale, and some inbetween. I am looking for one that is sort of a "chocolate pink" and not too dark - and cannot decide which one that might be. Kelly perhaps? Regarding the comment on dryness...I purchased one tube at the salon locally. This was the second tube I had ever purchased - it was SO dry - far dryer than the first. So much so, in fact, I could barely apply it! I took it back; the salon was great and agreed that something was wrong with that tube. They gave me another to replace it, and that tube was fine. So, perhaps the writer who mentioned this got a 'bad batch' like I did. All the other tubes since have been wonderful - and moist! I highly recommend!
Lipstick i have ever used in my 59 years!!!! the best part is that it does not go into lip lines....can't say enough!
I have Excema and for some reason it has come around my mouth and they became very chapped & dry. Every lipstick I use dries them out and makes it worse. Until I tried Jane Iredale, I now have the soft kissable lips again. Thank you! Cheryle
I have both Susan and Daisy. Susan is a neutral pink with a hint of chocolate in it. Daisy is a pale, more neutral pink with shimmer. Daisy barely shows up on my lips and rather washes me out - not enough color for my taste - but I don't like really dark color either. The PureMoist is that - moist - and I like the SPF. I love the color of the Toyko Lip Plumper - and I'm going to try to find one of the PureMoist colors that is similar if I can! I wish the JI site would give color descriptions for their lip colors - simple things - light, medium, dark and warm or cool - pink or peach etc - just to give us a frame of reference when we are viewing them online. I do like this product and all the color choices! Thanks!
i love the color i got without even trying it on lucky me! i am extremely happy!
I just purchased the Ashley at my local salon after viewing it online. I absolutely LOVE it! It is a great fall color for my med fair skin that tends toward the sallow side. It isn't too brown, nor too "mauve/pink" - and it isn't coral/melon either. It is just in between all of those, with a neutral look. It is darker than either the Lily or Daisy (which I found far too pale). I recently purchased Sabrina and am thinking of returning it, as it is just not quite deep enough in color. Ashley can be paired with either the Sienna or Red Earth lip pencil to create more of a 'pop' of color if you need it. I have highlighted med-brown hair an blue eyes - and this color is such a compliment! Thank you JI!! Oh - and don't forget the gloss over top! (-:
I have really dry lips, so finding a lipstick that doesn't peel or flake off half way through the day is a challenge. When I first bought this lipstick, I was disappointed because it wasn't showing up enough. I usually have to put chap stick on before using lipstick in order to keep my lips from drying out. So I decided to try it on by itself, and it looks beautiful! And, it keeps my lips nice and moisturized, with no yucky flaking! Not to mention it has a nice smell to it. Other lipsticks have that synthetic chemical smell and taste on your mouth, but this is refreshing. I've been using Jane's products for a few years and am never going back to mainstream cosmetics. Or over the counter, I'd rather pay for a quality product. -Jillian
I am very hard to please when it comes to lipstick, not only the texture & feel of it but the color & the way it wears. If all those things don't suit me then it will get a bad review from me. I have been very please with this ji LipColour in Annie that I found at the little spa where I get my facials. The color is perfect, it feels good & it stays on. I love the other ji products & now I can add lipstick to them.
If your lips are dry don't expect a lipstick to fix your problem. Give your body the nutrients it needs with 'whole foods'. I LOVE THE LIPSTICK>
I love this lipstick. Unlike others, the smell doesn't bother me, I actually quite enjoy it! A word to the wise though, staying power and texture varies with each shade (which is why I "took off" one star). It doesn't run, so I don't need to use lip liner (even for the darker shades!), which is a huge plus. It does feel more like a lip balm, so I absolutely love it!
I am 60 years young and this is the only lipstick that does not 'leak' into the cracks of my lips...i love Rose and Susan and Renee the best.... it's moist and i've used it every day for at least 10 years... Barb Wilson
Renee is such a lovely color for my olive skinned complexion! This lipstick even seems to slightly plump the lips. Very Good Product - Thank You.
This color looked to light for me. Not impressed with it at all.
This lipstick has been my one and only lipstick that Ive worn for at least the past 6 years! Love it!
I love this lipstick! It is the most incredible lip product I have ever used. But where is Brett!? It is the most beautiful, perfect shade of lipstick I have ever seen! PLEASE BRING IT BACK!
I never expected it to, but am completely surprised at how well Carrie goes with my olive/indian skin tone!
I have this in "Lily", and it's a very pretty, natural color on me. It adds just enough hint of color to make my lips pop, which I like. However, I don't know if I like it much better than Burt's Bee Lip Shimmers.
Love it!! I have this lipstick in Sharon and ordered another in Bridget that I tried on in the Beauty Store.
This is the perfect pink for cool undertones that require a brighter pink to keep from looking dead! I cannot wear pinks with brown undertones. Finally a pink that doesnt make me look like a clown! Love the consistency and doesn't creep into fine lines. My search is over!
I have used & loved this color for years without any problems. (Granted, you do have to apply it more often than other lipsticks, but the SPF makes it worth it.) That being said, the last three tubes that I bought from The Beauty Store have all had little balls of lipstick break off from the tube when I was applying it. Sometimes they would fall off onto my clothes & onto the seat (or, even worse, the floor)of my car when I was applying it. What a mess! Since The Beauty Store does not take returns or perform exchanges, the only way I have been able to come even close to using a full tube is to apply the lipstick with a lip brush by mashing the little ball as flat as possible with the brush and then trying to apply it to my lips. Even with all that, sometimes it still falls off. I only do this at home in the bathroom because it is so much trouble to apply and I don't want to risk it getting all over my car or clothes again. This problem prevents me from being able to quickly apply my lipstick with an SPF when I am "out and about" directly from the tube. Has anyone else had this trouble with other colors or is it just the C.J. color?
What is a good alternative to your discontinued Scarlett (classic Red shade), from your current collection? Anything that you could recommend for olive skin tones particularly? It would be good if you had not discontinued some of the colors for more variety.
Sarah LipColour is a great choice for a natural look. It looks lovely with the Nude Lip Definer and Mimosa gloss.
I got this in Daisy from Dermstore. The lipstick has a nice texture, but hardly any of it comes off on the lips and the color intensity is almost nonexistent. I am so disapointed because I wanted to like this product. Daisy would have been the perfect color for me if only the lipstick worked like a lipstick should. I hope you can recomend another, darker, color that may show up better on my lips?
So disappointed - placed my order on 2-9 and now they have free lip fixation :( as of 2-11. Anyway, back to my review. I was looking forward to receiving this lipstick and unfortunately it was not a winner. The color (sabrina) is very orange and not like the sample shown. Also, it is not moisturizing at all and actually highlights any dryness , even with lip balm. I will stick with clinique for lipstick. Sorry Jane.
I have the color Kate and love it but looking for another color with a brownish pink tint. I have fair skin and dark brown/black hair with dark brown eyes. What colors would you recommend?
I purchased this and was not happy with it. Customer service contacted me and exchanged it without my asking!
I just bought Susan to wear on my wedding day. It's a very pretty bridal pink that goes on smooth. It's also super moisturizing which is a plus. It goes very well with my olive skin tone. I'm definitely going to check out other colors as well.
Where is Jezebel? I have had these lipsticks for a long time, I have Brett and Jezebel, I love the 2 colors, my daughter tried Jezebel and took it with her, I wanted to order both for my daughter and also both for me and cannot find Jezebel. These are the best lipsticks in the market. Please let me know where is Jezebel? Thanks Teri
I use the Brett and Kim and recently tried the Kirsten LipColor. Love them. They keep my lips moist. I used to use the Dianna sheer color and loved it. I like my lips to look more natural with a little color rather than like you are wear a lot of makeup, but I do like the lipColor. I tried the Lip Plumper but didn't care for it. It seemed to make my lips peel.
I bought the Bridget shade and have been enjoying it immensely ! The first few times I used it, I had to use multiple swipes to get enough color to suit me, but now it only takes one! I guess I just needed to get it broken in! I WILL be buying this in other shades as it feels as good as it looks on my lips. I am new to Jane Iredale, but so far - I'm ready to be a total convert !!
My lips love this LipColour. I love the Susan for a soft everyday look and the Bridgette for a little more drama. The two colors can also be mixed. I don't do big bold lips usually. A special thanks to Katelyn for helping me out with this product!
I have dark hair (dark brown) and blue eyes which shades would be best
Hi could you help identify lip colours which are warm (with orange tones) Thanks!
I love all Jane Iredale products! Can't say enough about them. Haven't tried this lipstick and could use help deciding what shade to choose. I'm light-skinned, with pink undertones; definitely cool complexion. Dark blonde hair and hazel green eyes. I usually look best in berry tones (but not too dark) or rose shades. What do you recommend?
