The look is creamy and brilliant. The feel is like silk.
- Provides Broad Spectrum SPF 20 and UVA P++ protection that is water resistant for up to 40 minutes.
- Provides exceptional coverage, including redness and brown spots.
- Free of oil, talc, dyes and parabens.
- Ideal for people who suffer from skin problems such as eczema or rosacea.
- Remove the seal or puncture holes for controlled flow of the minerals. Replace lid, turn upside down and tap. The minerals are now released into the sifter.
- Cleanse the face and moisturize.
- Lightly dip each side of our Chisel Powder Brush into the minerals. Tap off any excess using the side of the jar.
- Using the lid, work the minerals into the brush until all powder is absorbed.
- Apply the minerals in thin layers using downward strokes. If you've put on too much, use our Flocked Sponge to remove any excess. Begin application where you want the most coverage, then lightly layer over the rest of the face. Don't forget your neck.
- Apply Absence Oil Control Primer to smooth the surface of the skin before putting on the minerals. Absence controls oil and helps prevent color change. Good for dry skins, too.
- If the minerals look powdery, wait a few minutes for the skin’s natural oils to emerge, or spritz with D2O, Balance or POMMISST.
- To “pull” the center of the face out and give more definition to the overall look, use a lighter base in the aesthetic triangle and a darker one on the perimeter.
- Less is more. It's better to layer the minerals than try to cover everything at once. You will be surprised at how much coverage you get with very little product.

I have been wearing another mineral makeup for years, but found the absolute perfect shade AND a 20SPF with this product. I love all Jane Iredale's products and would recommend anything they sell!
What a Pleasant Surprise!
After being a die hard fan of another mineral make up for the last few years, I was shocked at how much less oily the Amazing Base made my skin. I am wary of the price, but will see how long the container lasts to see if it is actually more cost efficient. I'm hoping it is because I really am impressed!
New Mineral Fan
This is the first mineral powder I have used. I really love that it has sunblock and is waterproof. I always get compliments on how fresh my skin looks when I wear it. I am frequently on location and need a light fresh look that has staying power. It does stay looking good even when you sweat, great product. I am impressed with the variety of shades in natural tones. I now have to try the pure pressed powder.
Better than the others
This mineral foundation is far superior to any I've used, and trust me...I've tried several! It feels wonderful going on and looks just as smooth and lovely 8 hours later! The color I use matches my skin tone perfectly--far better than other mineral tones I've tried. Using the Jane Iredale brush to apply is the icing on the cake--perfection...indeed flawless. My face never looked so good!
Healthy Summer Color
This color was provided in the sample kit for light skin. In the container it looks much darker than a shade I would have selected on my own, but I decided to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised. Although the shade would be too dark for my medium fair skin during the fall and winter months, it is very nice for summer. It also works very well under that horrible office lighting. My skin appears smooth and creamy. I decided to try Jane Iredale because my skin tends to break out from liquid foundations (even those that are oil free). I find the Amazing Base to be very soothing.

Amazing Stuff
Amazing Base if just AMAZING!!!!!! I have tried 6 other different mineral foundations and they have either settled in my pores and looked awefull, stung on my skin because the powder wasn't refined small enough, changed colors on me after a couple of hours, were extremely oily, or made me break out. Amazing Base didn't do any of these. It made me simply look radiant. As a 50 year old with oily skin that still breaks out, I still looked matt after 8 hours when I used Absence underneath. And this stuff felt like silk when I wore it. The real testament was when 4 people told me that I looked terrific immediately after seeing me. They wanted to know what was different about me. They just couldn't tell what it was but I looked radiant and younger. So, I just had to share my secret, Jane Iredale. Thank you so much for your awesome makeup line.
Great for Foundation AND Powder over Liquid Makeup
I think this one is better for coverage than the matte powder. It really helps out the liquid makeup and can be worn alone. I have had a better appearance after applying this with a cotton round for a smoother look. A little goes a long way and it lasts a good long while.

I love Jane Iredale products! The Amazing Base is a great product. I wear it every single day and just the one will last approximately 6 months or even longer! The light beige is the perfect color for me!

Best Mineral Foundation!
I have been a conniossuer of makeup since the age of 12 and I am now 25. I have suffered with combination skin and severe acne since I was 11 and have tried every brand on the market. If something new came out promising to be the next best thing since sliced bread I have tried it! My esthetician recommened Jane Iredale to me in June of 2010 and my skin has done a total 180! Along with my healthy diet, routine attention to the necessary needs of my skin, dedication to an all natural skin care line, daily exercise schedule and detoxification - my skin now glows! Acne, dull or skin or any other problem is always a combination of things, however using the wrong makeup line can only add to the damage! This is why I am completely and totally sold on Jane Iredale and for the first time in my life have found a mineral foundation I am completely satisfied with! My daily routine of Jane Iredale includes: 1. Disappear with Green Tea Extract 2. Amazing Base Loose Mineral Powder 3. 24-Karat Gold Dust (Rose) 4. Lip Definer 5. Ever since I have used this product I have so loved it! I stopped using it because I wanted to save money, but it doesn't save money when the other stuff does NOT measure up. So I'm coming back!!!
Far Superior
I was introduced to the Iredale line at my dermatologists office. They mentioned it was a makeup used by their plastic surgery patients. I scoffed and said my makeup was fine (MAC). The esthetician gave me a complimentary makeup application and I've been absoulutely thrilled since then. There is NO BETTER makeup line on the market. I can say that with complete assurance. I will forever be loyal to Jane Iredale products, they have made my skin absolutely beautiful and glowing! I have freckles and have always strived to cover them, with the results being a lot of heavy, caked on, orange makeup. Jane Iredale changed everything for me. I cannot ever say enough about these products. And trust me, I buy it for all my friends, and recommend it to anyone that will listen! Best Mineral Make-up
I tell everyone about this foundation! I used to use Bare Minerals & I can't believe how much better this one is. I do make-up for weddings & I attribute atleast half of my success to this product. It can make anyone look flawless!
Best Foundation EVER
After using PurePressed for a few years, i read reviews about the Amazing Base and decided to give it a try...OH MY! I just love it...so much more natural of a look than the PurePressed! (it leaves a satiny finish) and much more coverage...(I have some rosacea, so coverage is nice) BUT i still love my PurePressed...I just use it for touch-ups and travel...
Amazing base is right!

I won't use anything else!
I love this product. I won't use anything else! This product is truly amazing. It stays on all day and I just have to apply it once, maybe sometimes I touch it up. It feels like I'm not wearing any makeup and it is sensitive for my skin. I also like the SPF 20 to protect my skin during sunny days!
Very Nice
I have used many mineral make-ups,and have continued to use one every well none for a few years. I was told about Jane Ireland by my niece and decides to try it,now I have a new favorite. I bought one and now will by a darker shade for summer.I'm impressed !!
Great Stuff!
Used Warm Sienna Amazing Base years ago and lost my connection in town. Was re-introduced to Jane Iredale and am thrilled! I'm almost 50 and still breakout when using diffent brands of foundation. Best Mineral Poweder
I used another popular mineral foundation (BE) for years and will never go back. When I began using a prescription acne medication,this helped tame the redness/blemishes with a natural look. This powder can be used alone or over the liquid mineral foundation. It did not irriate or settle in lines/pores like other brands of mineral powders. This line also has great shade selection---no longer have to mix two shades now that I found Jane Iredale!
Wonderful product
I love this mineral foundation. I just received it and I can not tell you how soft this foundation feels on your skin. It covers very well and works good on oily skin. I was also impressed with how the product was packaged. I was totally surprise how much effort was put into the wrapping and the flower tape on the tissue paper. Made me feel special. Thank you! I will diffently be purchasing additional products for the quality is excellent.
Amazing is right!
I rarely write reviews, but when something wows me like Amazing Base has, I just have to share my excitement! I used another mineral foundation (the big one) for years, and recently I found that it was sinking into my pores and making my skin itch. I don't know if they changed the formula or what, but I knew I had to find a replacement. An aesthetician friend recommended Jane Iredale Amazing Base, so I knew I had to try it. WOW is all I can say. The light beige matches my fair/cool skintone perfectly, it goes on like silk, wears ALL DAY, doesn't irritate my sensitive skin, and most importantly, looks like bare skin. An acquaintance from my yoga class told me she wished she could get away with wearing no makeup like I do, well, that's about the best compliment I can get! I am a fan for life.

This Powder is Truly Amazing!!!!
I have never heard of Jane Iredale until a few months ago. I was lucky to be invited to a Allure Event regarding Jane Iredale makeup line and be able to try their products. Ever since that event I made the change to the Amazing Base and my skin has looked so much better. I have tried other department store brands- Clinque mineral makeup (too cakey), MAC (also cakey and could never get the right color), Laura Mercier (Color could never match) and Bare Minerals which I went through the whole container to get some sort of coverage. With the Jane Iredale my shade- light beige blends so well with my skin. The powder does not go into my (light)wrinkles. And it also does not look like I have any makeup on. Very fresh face. I have had fewer breakouts and my skin is clearing up from some acne pre-amazing base. I was also shown techniques to use this one container as my powder and concealer ! A 3 in 1! I use it as my powder for my entire face, under my eyes to cover my dark circles and any blemishes I would like to hide. I feel that the price point is good for the value and quality and one container can last for about 7 weeks and you do not need to buy another other product. I have also slept in my makeup a few times and my skin does not break out at all- very natural. Thanks Jane Iredale and the team for having these amazing events. I am hooked on your products and have gotten a few friends to make the switch!
truly amazing!
I have been using this for 2 weeks after trying it at a local spa. This stuff is fantastic! I don't know how this does it, but it covers very well yet lets my skin and it's natural luminosity shine through. I have used several foundations (other minerals, liquids, cream, powder from drugstores and expensive dept stores) and this is by far the best. The coverage is buildable and since I do not require much coverage I can see this lasting me a long while. The only thing I would change is the packaging.. it is not very travel friendly but it is not something that would keep me from using this awesome little product!
My favorite makeup
This stuff is -- well -- amazing. I've tried other "mineral makeup" but it doesn't compare with Jane's. Everybody in the world has already sung the praises of Amazing Base, so I'll just add a little tip you might want to try. Dip a detail brush into a little corner of the lid where the extra base lurks after you've applied it, then use that to dot over any little imperfections on which you might normally use a concealer.

I love this make-up! I was searching for a light, natural-looking make-up and I am very pleased with the results I get. I can apply lightly or layer the powder for more coverage. I get a lot of compliments about my skin now that I use this wonderful make-up!
Amazing!
I have never used a lose mineral foundation before, but I love amazing base, it truly is amazing! I like how you can blot it for more coverage in areas you need it most. And layer it on and it won't look cakey. It blends into my skin so well! I have had trouble in the past trying to find the perfect shade, I feel like everything is too orange. I always thought I was cooler toned but I guess I am warm. I found a new way to get even more coverage, after brushing it on I will spritz with a hydration spray, and do let it dry and then do another round of amazing base, and repeat as many times as needed. Not too much though or else the smell of the spray will get to me. But I found that its even smoother with more layers.

This is very nice mineral makeup and will last all day without touching up. I do think I will try a brush other than the kabucki. Th kabucki seems u use way too much product. I purchased the Warm Silk and it is a nice shade but does apply a bit darker than the Warm Silk Pressed. Overall, Nice !!!
Want to Try!
I have been using janes Liquid foundation and pure pressed base for several years, and I will never go back to anything else ever again. LOVE the way this makeup line stays put and the way it makes my complexion glow! I have really really been wanting to try amazing base, because I am looking for a fuller coverage, as well as just wanting to try new products. I was told that the amazing base colors aren't exactly the same as the colors for pure pressed base. I recently moved and there is not a place that sells Jane ire dale close to me so i can't go anywhere to get color matched. Since I have to buy my products online I hate to spend the money and get the wrong color. I normally wear pure pressed and liquid foundation in radiant. How do I know what color I am in amazing base? Is there a corresponding color?
Love Amazing Base
This is perfect for dryer skin. I would recommend using it with the Chisel Brush. The brush picks up the perfect amount of base and applies it beautifully.
Not for me...
I love the idea of loose mineral foundation. However, I have yet to find one that works for me. I've even tried using the hydration spray...which I love. BUT! I like the pressed powder version. So I sent this back and went back to the pressed version. It doesn't last as long, but I like how it goes on and feels. It just sits on my face better. Lastly, I use the color "suntan" with the pressed powder. Ordered "suntan" in the loose powder foundation and it was too dark. The very nice gal on the phone let me know that the loose powders can tend to have more pigment in them. So...just a FYI. I hate to give a 3 rating b/c I love this line of makeup products. This just wasn't for me.
