Goat Hair
Applies Amazing Base like no other brush. Also can be used to apply PureMatte, Amazing Matte, PurePressed Blush and 24-Karat Gold Dust.
I LOVE this Chisel Powder brush. I use it with my Jane Iredale pressed powder. These brushes will last FOREVER. They are incredibly soft, super easy to keep clean (I wash mine once a week with warm water and face soap), and totally worth the price. Jane Iredale brushes really hold the powder (unlike cheap/synthetic ones), and distribute the color evenly all over my face. They do not transfer any of the oil from my face onto my pressed powder. With regards to size, the Chisel Powder brush has the same girth (in terms of the brush head), as their Kabuki brush. I use both, (when I wash one and am waiting for it to dry), but I really like the long handle of the Chisel Powder brush. *(If you need a brush to fit into the crevices at the side of your nose, or the space between your eyebrows, I'd recommend the Large Shader brush. It is about 1/2 in diameter and does an amazing job touching up these smaller areas on my face).
I was recently introduce to the Jane Iredale line and fell completely in love with the Amazing Base foundation I purchased the foundation first then went on to get the Jane Iredale Powder Brush. This brush is horrible- When I first use it everything was fine. Now after washing it once the brush is now rough. It itches my skin and also made me break out! This brush was a big waste of $30.
I have to agree with the other review that this brush is most definitely not worth the price. I absolutely love this make-up. It works amazingly well and stays on all day. BUT the brush is awful. The bristles shed constantly, so after putting on your make-up you have to remove a ton of little black hairs from your face and neck, which is not an easy task because they stick to you and some are tiny! I recommend the make up to everyone I know, but I tell them to save their money and buy a brush elsewhere.....
I like this brush and it does a great job at applying loose powdered products and blending them in. I use this brush to apply and blend bronzer/blush. The brush is not very soft and I can see how it could itch or mildly irritate skin when used all over. I don't have a problem with shedding.
Love the powder foundation makeup, but must agree that this brush is a waste of money. The bristles constantly fall off and you spend a great deal of time after each use carefully removing all the bristles from your face. I stupidly tried 2 of these brushes with the same poor result. However I also have the Handi Brush, which I love and it does not have the shedding problem.
This has got to be the worst brush ever. It picks up and applies loose powder nicely, however it sheds like crazy and feels a bit rough on the face. I am so tired of picking tons of hairs off of my face after every time I use this brush. Some hairs are tiny and close to getting in my eyes...I sometimes have to use tweezers to get them off. I actually have 2 of these, so it's not a case of a defective brush. They have been washed several times but it has not helped the shedding at all. Love JI foundations...but this brush is horrible and not even worth spending $1 let alone $30. Sorry Jane, but based on your quality products, I believe you can do better.
I wish this came with a short handle. I like to get up on the mirror when applying my Base. I held off getting this brush and used a different Mineral Base brush, the application wasn't great. Although I still wish for a shorter handle, I love this Chisel Brush. It is a must have for applying the Amazing Base.
