- Apply a bronzer where the sun would hit the face first: cheekbones, chin, nose and forehead.
- Or, for a look that sculpts the face, apply a lighter base to the center of the face (include eyes and around the mouth, but not the nose), a darker one on the outside perimeter, and then the bronzer. This pulls the center of the face out and mimics the effect that a key light would have. It's a very effective way of adding definition and a trick often used by TV and film makeup artists.
- For a light bronzing, apply to the apples of the cheek and blend with your powder brush.
- To contour, apply under the cheekbone and blend upwards onto the cheekbone.
- Be careful to blend well with your powder brush so you can't see where the bronzer begins or ends.
- For a sultry, sexy glow, sweep over your cheeks, shoulders and décolleté.
Disappointed
In theory, this product seems great. A no-mess, no-fuss bronzer. I hard a super hard time applying evenly with the attached brush. And I TRIED. I got so frustrated trying to apply the bronzer, I finally ended up detaching the brush. Totally waste of money. I'm sure JI offers great bronzers, but I'm reluctant to try again.
Previous review update
I should have added onto my previous review that I do use Jane's liquid mineral foundation, so that likely impacted the ability for me to get this bronzer on evenly. I suspect that if you just use the pressed powder or use it on a clean face, it would be easier to apply. That being said, tried Moonglow and LOVE IT.
Disappointed
I was really excited when I purchased this bronzer. Even though I am a full time student and really did not have the money to spend, I bought this believing that it would be better than anything else I could possibly try. I have extremely sensitive skin, so knowing that this would be safe to use made me feel really great. The brush did not work for me at all. It is really hard to apply, so I had to actually shake it first with the cap on, then pour a little bit out into an empty compact, then apply it with a brush. I was totally fine applying it that way, if the bronzer wouldn't irritate my skin. Unfortunately, a couple hours later, it seemed patchy and mudy. I continuted to use this product reluctantly, hoping it would look good, but always ended up making me frustrated. I really wanted to love this product but it has not worked for me at all.
