- Conditions lashes so they don’t clump, flake or break.
- Apply a layer of our PureLash Extender and Conditioner first. You’ll be amazed how it thickens your lashes. It also means that you’ll use less mascara. Allow to dry until tacky and then apply your favorite formula of mascara.
- Be sure to rock the mascara wand at the base of your lashes first. This is where you want the most product, then brush out to the tips.
- If you are going to layer mascara, don’t wait for each application to dry. This is what makes lashes stick together.
- Don’t pump brushes. This will force air into the tube and help to dry out the product. Simply twist the brush in the tube to pick up more product.
- Brown or grey can look softer around the eyes than black.
- Too much mascara can be aging.
can't do without
I'm a redhead & usually wear Longest Lash in Autumn and recently bought slate gray. Both are amazing. I live in NYC and despite the current heat wave and occasional all-nighters, my eyes are smudge free, lashes look great and not a raccoon in sight.

Worth it!
I got a sample of this mascara from my hair salon and I decided I just cannot go back to crap mascara. This stuff feels comfortable and does not dry out my eyes. Also, it lasts way longer than other mascara's I have tried and it doesn't get clumpy in smell weird after 2 weeks of use either.

Really thickens lashes!
I started using this product when I received a sample of it with my order and once again, I'm hooked on a new Jane Iredale product. This mascara works best when used with the Lash Conditioner and while it may seem pricey, you seriously won't have to replace these products for at least a year. It lasts forever! Also, what is most impressive is that it has truly thickened my lashes over time...I've been using this for just about a year now. They feel fuller and healthier too. Great, great product!
Beautiful lashes and no irritation
The BEST mascara. Great for those with sensitive eyes. Now we can have long, lush eyelashes too! I am so glad I took a chance purchasing the slate grey shade. It emphasizes brown eyes beautifully. Product definitely applies better with the conditioner applied beforehand. It's an investment, but worth it for the effect it produces and the way it improves the condition of lashes. The perfect mascara!
Ive tried to go back to the cheap stuff but nothing compares, This is the only mascara Ive found that builds up curled eyelashes and holds them while still thickening them. I have very straight lashes that I curl and this makes them look so pretty they look fake!! Its a little spendy but lasts 3x as long as cheap mascara, so you do get your moneys worth!

... Maybe I got an old one but it doesn't seem to put much on your lashes. I have the dark blond color so I'm going to order the ripe plum and see if that one is any better.
good for length and thickness
i like this mascara but i think i'm going to try another kind from jame iredale becuase this mascara doesnt curl my lashes very well and thats what i need in a mascara. if you want length and fullness this is a great mascara but it doesnt curl at all

I just received this and had to try it out right away even though it is 9:30pm. All I can say is WOW!!! My lashes are super long! Of course I used the Jane Iredale PureLash Extender and Conditioner so that might have something to do with it, but wow!!! My eyes look really opened up! I have bought tons of mascara before so this is not like it's my first. I have bought high priced department store brands and tons of drug store brands, but none have come close to making my eyelashes look like this. I am hoping it does not flake or smudge either. I could not wait to do a review later. I just had to write about it now!
AWESOME PRODUCT!
I got a sample from Oneonta Laser Derm and Day Spa. I love it, I don't normally wear make-up unless I'm going out I wear this everyday now. It doesn't feel like I'm wearing any mascara and I love how it doesn't clump. Hard to swallow the price at first but its so worth every penny!!!!
This mascara ROCKS!!
It takes a lot to impress me - and I have to say this is the ABSOLUTE best mascara I have ever tried. It made my already beautiful lashes even prettier! It lasted all day and into the night without smudging or flaking. Based on the advice of other reviews, I also bought the PureLash Extender and Conditioner. I love this stuff!
not loving this one...
just didn't seem like this was thickening or lengthening. i read the previous review and response from ji about layering, but i just never seemed to get the results i was expecting/hoping for. maybe i got an old tube because i had serious flaking by mid-day. so disappointed...i really wanted to love this mascara!! i guess i will have to continue my search for the perfect mascara!
I really wanted to love this but...
I love Jane Iredale products usually but this mascara fell short for me. Firstly it simply does not stay put and I end up looking like a panda in about 20 minutes. Also the fibers that are supposed to lengthen your lashes keep falling into my eyes causing irritation from a product that would probably not be irritating were it not for these fibers. Also the fibers just don't lengthen very well. I really wanted to love this product but unfortunately I have had no success with it.

I use Dark Blonde and LOVE IT. My lashes are never clumpy, and never dry out, even by the end of the day. I've even had people ask me, "Are you wearing mascara? Your lashes are so long!" And I'm being totally serious, that actually happened two times. Love this product. Looks so natural.
Longest Lash Espresso
Not so great! It advertised as thickening and lengthening mascara but I found none are true. I follow their instruction to use with their lash conditioner and apply several coats of mascara, meaning at least 4 coats or more. At least the black ice mascara shows up more than the espresso, but still, I think all and all this mascara is way over rated. It also irritates my eye if I accidentally rub them. So to sum it all up, I personally think it not only over rated but also over priced. Sorry Jane but I think your mascara can use some improvement.
Good for about a month
I know that this is formulated differently and that the texture is not the same as other mascaras, but after a month-and-a-half mine has gotten so clumpy that I can hardly use it. The fibers are all over the place and I usually get clumps in my eyelashes when I apply it. I really like the flexible tube that it comes in (all companies should try this). I can work the mascara around inside to try to get the clumps out, though it isn't working for me now. For the cost, I am disappointed.
great with conditioner
I naturally have long lashes and initially wasn't that impressed with this product. I later purchased the lash conditioner and these products when used together produce ridiculously long lashes! More so than any other mascara I have used. It also doesnt clump. I am only giving it a four because of the price of the two combined.
Was Sceptical
I bought this mascara and was a little afraid. I didnt love it when I used it the first week. I got used to it and was figureing out how I was going to be able to make it work. I then got on the website read the reviews about the conditioning and lengthening tube and decided to buy that and see if that helped. My issues was that it is VERY light. I did like how feathery my lashes looked. I naturally have fairly thick and long lashes so I dont need much help. I do however love how the conditioner and mascara work together. I'm happier having the two. I would recommend buying the two together. I think if you buy one without the other they should send the other as a sample... just a thought.
Not so much
I have not really noticed thickening or lengthening of my lashes in fact you can hardly see I have lashes. However, my lashes feel softer, I know it sounds crazy.
Not totally sold
I really liked it initially but for me mascara's preformance is all in the brush and this just didn't do it for me.There is no smudging or irritation but it doesn't even look like i put any on

Chunky and smears even with the lash primer
Fantastic
I use this both with and (when rushed) without the PureLash Extender & Conditioner. It's fun to use and is very smooth, not at all flaky. I wear contacts sometimes, so that's a huge factor for me. I love that it has a long shelf life after opening.
Mascara Good - However;
Great Mascara with the primer! However; I recently tried one of the colors (GREY); the color is too light, not deep enough. Possibly if they intensfied the color it would work better? Black works great! My future orders will be in Black, unless they deepen the colors.
Slate Grey
Just wearing this for my first time and I'm already recommending it as a great, softer look for daytime so one can reserve the vavavoom for when it is needed. Great for fair skin, better than brown which on me makes me look like I have no make-up on at all - sounds like a good thing but it's too unsophisticated. This is great with grey liner and a touch of grey shadow, can't wait to try more.
Will Never Wear Any Other Mascara AGAIN!
This is the BEST mascara I have EVER had!! Before I got Longest Lash, I was using a different brand of mascara. It smeared if you put more than one coat on, and flaked after two hours. Well, a miracle came! I bought this stuff on a whim, and am glad that I did! You can put on several coats without it smearing, and it NEVER flakes! I will never buy any other brand EVER AGAIN! This has made me a lifelong customer! THANKS, J.I.! :)
Best ever
Received sample of black ice with purchase of agate brown purelash. This has remained smooth and goes on easily with no clumps or stickiness over the couple of years I've had it. Tried to save it for travel/purse only but it's my goto over the purelash and an older hauschka one. I think its the applicator as well as the formula.
Forgot to mention
In my first review... Doesn't bother my allergic eyes and doesn't flake that ive noticed. Maybe comes off a little too easily if dancing, but I've never seen raccoon eyes or flakes, just noticed that its barely on lashes anymore. will be buying again.
Absolutely fantastic
Hello from Greece, I recently bought this mascara (black ice) because my previous one (a very famous and luxurious claiming that creates the effect of false lashes) ended. My first impression was that this mascara gave me an intense look, keeping my lashes looking soft and naturally thick and long; this is a great plus since I don't like the creepy-crowlies effect on my eyes. Looking my lashes by several angles I realised that they actually looked long and thick, not as if I wear falses or extensions however still dramatic and suitable for any time(even during early mornings) since it will not make your eyes look heavier or tired. Mind that my real lashes are rather thin (thinner at their ends)and have normal length. I didn't regret the purchase, though it is a bit expensive for me but the tester of the lash conditioner inside was a pleasant and wellcome surprise. I would definately buy it again. A suggestion please consider creating a curling version of it. Best regards! Alexandra
