Goat Hair
A hand-tied goat hair brush for Amazing Base® or PurePressed® Base, PurePressed® Blush, bronzer and shimmer powders.
This is a very nice brush that is reasonably priced. It feels well balanced in the hand, it is compact but not too small, and it easily applies mineral foundation. I have owned mine for about a year now and wash it once a week with California Baby Ultra Sensitive Shampoo. It retains its shape well and does not shed hair. I love it!
I've owned this brush for YEARS and it still looks great and (even better) works with my PurePressed foundation powder the same as when I first purchased it! I clean it regularly with pure castile soap and warm water. Worth every penny.
I really love the brush and how it applies my Pure Pressed Powder. However, with the proper care and cleaning....never immersing in water, the handle has fallen off. It lasted only 9 months. The price is not justified by the lack of longevity. I would have expected years out of it.
great tool to apply mineral make up. This is fantastic! It blends the minerals very well and really holds the powder so I do not have to use much. A but pricey but so worth it! I have it with baby shampoo and it has held up well. Good size for travel as well.
I received this brush as gift several years ago to use with a Jane Iredale pressed power. I used it exclusively with the power and the bristles became deformed (sort of flattened out in the middle) and the brush lost its shape very quickly! I take good care of all my makeup, and I was disappointed because its a very nice brush, I just wish it would've been able to stay in my collection longer!
Love this Brush with my Pure Pressed Powder. I also puchased the Kabuki Brush and felt this one worked best with my Pressed Powder. That's the only downfall with purchsing make-up and make-up accessories from a Beauty Store is there is a No-Refund and No-Exchange Return Policy which I feel is a poor customer service policy being that this make-up line is quite pricey...but worth every penny!
Using this brush for applying the pressed base makes a visible difference. I was hesitant at first because of the size and used other high end expensive brushes and once I gave the handy brush a try I got rid of the other application brushes I had. I wash it with the JI shampoo and find that it does shed a little bit,..not a lot,..but a little bit. Still love it and can't imagine using anything else besides this brush and the JI sponge to apply the pressed base.
Ironically, I had just written a glowing 5 star review for the entire brush set today when I went in to put on my mineral makeup and found a clump of bristles had come out of my Handi brush. I have purchased almost all of the Jane Iredale brushes and this is the first one to become defective (except for the gloss brush in the "Fixation" lip gloss tube). I did not expect this to happen.
I had this brush for awhile and stopped using it because it was rough and scratchy feeling on my face. It also shed a lot. I mean all over my counter and face with every use. I finally wrote to JI customer service and although the response time was slow, initially, they did eventually send me the replacement brush. So far, I haven't had the same issues and the brush is really really soft. So soft, that I can't press down too hard or I'm afraid ill mess up the soft plush hairs. It's a very mice powder brush and it would do really well for those who want a light to medium coverage. I would probably use a more dense brush for heavier coverage.
the quality of this brush has change its shed so much that you cannot used. a big loss of money.
My bru didn't even last for a 1 year and I have MAC brushes that are at least 5 years old! Very disappointed, the entire brush head came off when I was shaking it off to dry :(
