Smooth Affair is true to its name
I have two small children and never take time to write product reviews, but this product is worth my time. I have been using Smooth Affair Primer and Brightener for over one week and am thrilled with the results! I am 41 years old, my children are 2 1/2 years and 15 months old. I never look smooth or bright. This product instantly made my skin look bight, poreless, and well rested. It stays on all day. Smooth Affair looks gorgeous on my skin alone, but with foundation looks amazing. The smell is heavenly, makes me feel like I'm treating myself to a spa treatment before I start changing diapers all day. I will be purchasing this again and again. Please try it!
Can't Believe My Skin
I have used other primers before and usually they feel slick and like silicone. They seem to just lay on top of my skin. I just used the Facial Primer for the first time today and what a difference! It goes on smoothly, blends right in and feels great. My skin actually looked so good I almost skipped my PurePressed Base. After applying my PurePressed Base, my skin just glowed. An awesome product!
Amazing
I have tried many primers in my makeup routine over the years. I love using Jane iredale's pure pressed base and alone it looks great but using it with this primer makes a huge difference. It smells amazing, fills in pores, feels very soothing when applied and seems to be helping. My acne heal faster. It makes my minerals last all day and couldn't be happier with this product. I even use it on days I'm not wearing makeup because I feels so nice! Pricey but worth every penny!
I don't get it
This stuff smells and feels lovely, but I don't see it do anything for my skin other than being a very very light moisturizer.
Not seeing the magic
Has a really lovely smell and feel, absorbs thoroughly. I actually really like it, But there's no difference between using glow time with or without this, which is what it was sold to me for. If it weren't so expensive I'd say it's perfect light moisture for summer night under glow time.

I have tried several primers, and this is amazing I definitly recommend it. It makes your skin smooth and makes the foundation go on GREAT!!!!
The Perfect Prep
I'd never used a facial primer before this one; I avoided them because so many are filled with junk that's bad for my skin. Fortunately, that's not a concern with Jane Iredale products. Smooth Affair smells great, hydrates, blends easily, absorbs quickly, and actually makes my foundation go on smoother (and without having to use as much product to get the same coverage)! It's also great for mixing with other products; if I don't want a full-coverage look, I use equal parts Glow Time and Smooth Affair--mix a tiny bit together, then apply. Perfection!

So far so good
I am really liking the facial primer and brightener, its the same great results as when you wear the liquid foundation, only you get to wear the pressed powder instead. Skin also looks great when you wash it off.
Wanted to love it...
I really wanted to love this product; it smells amazing and feels incredible on the skin (initially). However, I after months os use, I can't say it works well as a primer or a brightener. Combo-to-Oily girls be weary, I think it must be better for dry skin (and probably amazing) because instead of mattifying is moisturizes...a lot. By mid-day my face is like an oil slick and I would only use the tiniest bit (because a little goes a long way). As per brightening, I'm not sure why this is even mentioned, because it doesn't seem to brighten skin temporarily or long term.
Not as expected
Anticipated this primer would help my foundation last throughout the day and give my skin a healthy glow; however that was not what I got instead I got what looks like a allergic reaction to one of the ingredients. After two days of wear I have broken out terribly, just be warned all you sensitive skin girls this is not for everyone.
Love Love Love
I started using this primer after my husband and I got back from a trip to Florida. The Florida weather really hurt my skin and made it - especially my face - rough and bumpy. After only using this for a week, I had noticeably smoother skin. It's been almost a month and my skin just continues to get better. Love it!
Great for sensitive skin
I have the most sensitive skin out there and this primer didn't hurt my skin or break me out. This line of makeup is very sensitive and if used correctly gives awesome results. Makeup companies are so scared to put makeup out there that can actually change the skin and help us for fear of an uninformed customer getting a slite rash ( maybe from the product or maybe just environmental) and giving up on the product or freaking out. This brand is the best I've found yet and am so appreciative to Jane Iredale and her team for it. I'm not one to write reviews until I found this makeup. I love every single item I've purchased and will continue to build my collection.
