This is a great solution for the afternoon oilies, especially in combination with the blotting papers. Beyond Matte is a wonderfully portable compact that controls shine and helps my morning face last into the evening. I'm still amazed that age 56, I still have oily skin. Definitely recommended.
This is simply the best powder I have ever used. It doesn't cake or settle in creases, and it even makes my pores appear smaller.
I have struggled with oily skin my entire life until I found Jane Iredale products. I use the balancing mist, absence, pure pressed base, and beyond matte when I get shiny. I absolutely love this makeup and how it makes my skin look. Beyond Matte is great for touchups or even by itself on days you just need to run out the door. It imparts a smooth look to the skin and controls oil. love it!
I was waiting for a few really hot days to pass to leave my review on the Beyond Matte powder so I could see how it holds up to the heat. I have VERY oily skin and I have to say I am very impressed at how much this powder has helped my oily skin! I really like how it makes my skin feel like velvet too. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because it is a very soft powder and a bit of it broke off in my purse so I can't carry it with me through the day. I emailed Jane Iredale and a representative confirmed my theory that this is a very soft powder so be careful with it in your purse. Still...I can't believe something actually kept me from being shiny all day! Very awesome!!!
I don't really have oily skin, but once in a while I do notice a slight shine to my forehead, nose, and chin. I've tried Pure Matte, but find Beyond Matte (in Translucent) to give a far more elegant finish... I use it with the Dome brush and so far, very impressed!
Hi, I am not sure if I received a defective product or not. It is very hard to get the powder onto any brush or powder puff. Is that the ways this product is? I have even tried scratching it with my finger nail a little to loosen it up but it still doesn't really budge.
I wanted to update my review. The previous one I ordered was defective. I had reviewed that the product was very hard. Jane Iredale's awesome customer service resolved the problem and quickly sent me out a replacement. The new one is perfect and I love this powder to help with oil control. Thank you so much Jane Iredale customer service!!!! Ann
I was so glad to see other people had problems with this powder being hard. I bought it awhile ago with the pure pressed base which I love. I'm also sold on Moisture Tint. After such success with other Iredale products I was surprised to have so much trouble with this product. I was going to throw it away because it's just sitting in a makeup drawer because it was so hard. I had exactly the same problems others noted. I'm going to call the company tomorrow and try another one. This must have been a defective one as well.
This product does control oil and while I use it daily since I bought it I'm not convinced that it's a must have product or that I'll refill it once it's empty. No matter how light I apply this product it changes how the pressed base looks and makes my nose look a little chalky. However, it does control oil and the product will last a very long time.
This product was recommended at my dermatologist office along with the pure pressed powder and absence to help with oil control. I have to say I love this makeup! It has really made a huge difference in my acne prone skin which I've had all my life. Since sticking with this makeup my breakouts have stopped and for that reason I will be faithful to only J.I.makeup. The only draw back is my oily skin tends to make this make up not last through the day. After reading other comments I too think I might have gotten a hard/bad Beyond Matte product. Some of the good reviews on this product sound promising so I might try again. As for now I am using Pure Matte instead for oil control, that seems to help.
I use Jane's loose foundation and love it. During a consultation, the sales rep applied the peach beyond matte and I loved. But when I tried using it at home it is beyond hard and I can't get the powder onto my brush.
